For Such a Time As This

You’ve heard the phrase “bloom where you are planted.” It’s a great phrase used to encourage us to embrace our current circumstances, accepting the good and bad, and growing through it all. I love this visual picture of growth, beauty and strength. There is a similar concept in the Bible in one of my favorite Bible stories. This principle focuses on the fact that God is constantly at work in and around my life. What if you were created “for such a time as this?”

Today’s Monday’s Motivation comes from the book of Esther. The story of how God used a young Jewish girl to save his people is a page turner! The climax of the story comes in Esther chapter 4 when Esther’s purpose and call to action is pronounced:

“And who knows if perhaps you were made queen, for such a time as this.”

Esther 4:14

Purpose, Placement, Position, Providence

Esther’s purpose, her placement in the palace, her position was all providential by God! Listen, I can get motivated by that today. God is at work in my life. He is at work in your life. No matter where you are, he sees you. He has placed you there for a God-ordained purpose. We need to open our eyes to the opportunity to shine a light on Him.

• When you’ve been up all night with a crying baby……. He sees you.
• In the office, working diligently day in and day out…He sees you.
• When you are trying to stretch that budget to make ends meet each month…He sees you.
• Taking care of that aging parent…He sees you.
• Choosing to be a stay at home mom…He sees you.
• On your knees praying for the prodigal child…He sees you.
• When you lose that loved one…He sees you.
• Praying for your future husband…He sees you.
• When you get that big promotion…He sees you.
• When you win the big game…He sees you.
• When you faithfully teach that Bible Study class week after week…He sees you.
• When your prodigal child runs into your arms…He sees you. He sees both of you.

God has placed you right where you are for a purpose. Our purpose is to glorify Him in everything we do, the good and the bad, and He will take care of the rest. For such a time is this!
