He is Risen

Motivation Monday

Happy Monday friends! This is the beginning of a very special week as we celebrate the resurrection of our Savior! It is only fitting that I choose a verse to honor this special week.

“He is not here, for He is risen, just as He said.”

Matthew 28:6

Have you ever wondered what it must have been like for Jesus’ followers during those 3 days after His crucifixion? They had given up everything; their livelihoods, families, homes, comfort all to follow Jesus. They witnessed Him perform miracle after miracle. They were as close to Jesus as anyone could possibly have been. And then He died. It’s possible they experienced grief, loneliness, and doubt beyond anything we could imagine.

But then came Sunday morning! Oh what a day! The women went to the tomb expecting to grieve the loss of their friend and Savior, Jesus. But, instead they were greeted by a messenger and an empty tomb! What was the message? “HE IS NOT HERE! Why in the world are you grieving? He told you this was going to happen? ” Ok. That’s Jana’s modern day translation, but really? How many times do we doubt what he says?

How might your week be different just by believing that He is faithful to His promises? This week as you celebrate Easter don’t forget to thank Him for the sacrifice He made for you on the cross, but also for the hope we have in the resurrection. Happy Resurrection Day friends!
