Monday success follows Sunday faithfulness!

Did you know that Monday’s Motivation actually starts on Sunday? At least for me it does, and maybe I can encourage you today with some words from Psalm 1:2.
“But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night.”
Psalm 1:2
Reading the Bible consistently has not always been easy for me. I could list a variety of excuses like busyness, babies, exhaustion, distraction, hurt, fear, etc. Do you have any you could add? One thing I’ve learned, I need to spend time with Him and in His word in order to do “all the things.” I had it backwards! I was trying to do “all the things” first, and then spend time with Him. That meant I was doing it in my own strength and that certainly didn’t last very long.
How does it feel when you start out Monday morning with a dirty or cluttered house? Not good! There is something about having a neat, clean home (especially the kitchen) that helps start the week in the right frame of mind! As I am writing this, my kitchen isn’t quite up to par!
In order to start the new weekdays with the best attitude and focus, start on Sunday. After all, Sunday IS the first day of the week. I spend time on Sundays in worship and fellowship with other believers in my church. I hear from the Lord through the messages and the music.
But that verse does not say to ONLY meditate on the things of God “on Sunday morning.” It says “day and night.” The meaning is that this should be an ongoing focus of our lives. It can’t stop at church on Sunday. So, I keep getting fueled up for “all the things” God has for me during my week by starting my day with Him! Even more than my car, my spiritual tank requires more than a once-a-week fill-up. I read His Word and think about it throughout my day. That is enough to motivate me for all the Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, . . . you get the picture! Afterall, God does not intend for us to perform a weekly checklist of religious rituals; He desires for us to have an ongoing daily relationship with Him!
I hope you have a wonderful week and remember it’s a journey so just keep working on it every day!
This week I have a free wallpaper for your phone. It’s our verse for Monday Motivation and it will help you memorize it this week!
