Good morning friends! I am so excited to share with you a brand new weekly feature on the Harvesting Home blog. Every Monday, I will be sharing a quote or scripture to start our week off with the right focus. As a part of this feature, I will include a printable with the quote that you can download.
This week, I am sharing a quote that I have on display in my office as a daily reminder of the impact that my words can have on each and every person that comes through my door.
One kind word can change someone’s entire day.
Such a simple phrase, but it holds so much truth. How could this change you as a parent? grandparent? co-worker? wife? friend? Words have power. Even more than that; words have staying power. What does that mean? They stick around. They either build up or tear down. I bet if I were to ask you of a time that someone said something that hurt you, you would be able to recall the exact hurtful words that were said. But, that same is true about words that build up. I am sure you can also recall a time when someone took the time to say something kind to you, or to write you a note of appreciation, or tell you that you are loved. Words have power.
“Therefore encourage one another and build one another up.” 1 Thessalonians 5:11
This week, look for simple opportunities to BUILD up others with your words. When someone around you is having a bad day, seize the opportunity to encourage them with kindness. You may be the reason their entire day changes for good. Truth be told, when you begin to encourage and build others up, your day will be the one that is most changed for the better.

This is a wonderful thing! Thank you so much:)
Thank you, Maria! I know I need this reminder every day! A little kindness can make such a huge difference.
Blessings!
