We all love a great, homemade cookie! This oatmeal chocolate chip cookie will soon be your favorite!
Years ago, at a ministry convention, I picked up a little book written by another pastor’s wife. Her name, that you will quickly recognize, was Ruth Bell Graham. I had so much respect for her husband Billy Graham, their ministry, and their family and this little book offered encouragement from one pastor’s wife to another. Ruth Graham shared a favorite oatmeal chocolate chip cookie recipe that quickly became a family favorite for us. I have adapted it through the years to include pecans and I have truly worn this little book out through lots of use! The book can still be found on Amazon and I have linked it below for your convenience.
One of the things I love to do(when I have time!), is cooking for my family. I especially love baking with my grandchildren. My granddaughter and I put together a quick video baking these delicious oatmeal chocolate chip cookies. I hope it encourages you to spend time with your family and to share your baking with others.
You will get a glimpse of my 1920’s Craftsman home kitchen and our amazing Kitchen Aid appliances that we have grown to love! We will feature our kitchen remodel in a blog post very soon.
We have some hilarious highlights at the end of the video, so stayed tuned until the end! Be sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more videos and to our website for updates on the blog. Subscribing doesn’t cost anything, but helps me grow my audience and opportunities for ministry. I hope you enjoy the recipe listed below!

Farmhouse style chalkboard
We are often asked where we bought the chalkboard in our basement hallway, as seen at the end of the video. I found this specific chalkboard at an antique store, but there are now many similar styles on Amazon! Check out this one linked, and then search for farmhouse style chalkboard to see a variety of sizes and styles.
